An independent jewelry shop had an amazing response to Ivanka Trump's order

Lady Grey Jewelry, an independent, New York City-based jeweler, has had its pieces displayed on the cover of numerous high-end fashion magazines and seen worn by stars likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna.

Customers of Lady Grey now apparently include Ivanka Trump, who Lady Grey say purchased a helix ear cuff (retail price $84) from designers Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader.

But Lady Grey’s owners are also Hillary voters. The two penned a handwritten note to Trump’s daughter saying that while they appreciate her business, they were donating the money she paid to charities and the Clinton campaign. They posted the note to their Twitter and Instagram accounts Tuesday:

The note reads:

Dear Ivanka,
Thanks so much for web order! We’re happy to let you know that the proceeds of your sale have been generously donated to The American Immigration Council, the Everytown For Gun Safety organization, and the Hillary Clinton Campaign. We hope you enjoy your new Lady Grey #helixearcuff. Best, Jill + Sabine/Lady Grey

A representative for Ivanka Trump declined to comment.

In a statement to Fusion, a rep for Lady Grey declined to say how much Ivanka Trump’s order was worth, but confirmed the donations. “While we were flattered to receive an order from Ivanka Trump, our social and political views couldn’t be further from those of the Trump campaign,” the rep said.

They said they have since made their Twitter account private “due to the overwhelming response” and so that Martinelli and Le Guyader could focus on their upcoming collection.
