'Empire' cast endorses Hillary Clinton for president

On Empire, the Lyon family dynasty may be wracked by delicious drama, but off screen, there’s one thing the cast can agree on: Hillary Clinton should be the next president of the United States.

Directed by Empire creator Lee Daniels, a one-minute spot endorsing the former Secretary of State aired during Wednesday night’s episode of the Fox hip-hop drama.

Taraji P. Henson, Gabourey Sidibe, Tasha Smith, Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers, Bryshere Gray, Grace Byers, and Daniels himself (Terrence Howard, who plays patriarch Lucious Lyon, was notably absent) explain their reasons for supporting Clinton, which include gun control, Obamacare, and women’s rights.

“There’s only one person in this race who said Black Lives Matter,” Gray said.
