Here's the Intriguing Trailer for Lena Waithe’s New Show The Chi

Earlier this year, Lena Waithe (and Aziz Ansari) gave us one of the best episodes of television with the “Thanksgiving” episode of Master of None. The funny, heart-wrenching, and poignant episode won Lena her first Emmy and made her the first black woman to win the award for comedy writing. While there are no immediate plans for a Season 3 of Master of None, the trailer has dropped for Waithe’s latest project, The Chi.

The Showtime series is a coming-of-age story set in South Side, Chicago, featuring several interconnected characters. The Chi is executive produced by Common and stars Moonlight’s Alex Hibbert and Jason Mitchell (Detroit and Straight Outta Compton), among others. The show is set to premiere January of 2018.
