If someone asks why you're not celebrating Columbus Day, show them this simply perfect tweet

Latest

The city of North Charleston, SC, decided to get out in front of any Columbus Day-related confusion this year and reminded all of its Twitter followers over the weekend that it would definitely be open regular hours on Monday.

Seems simple enough, right? There are lots of reasons (so many reasons) Columbus Day shouldn’t be a holiday, but this shouldn’t even be controversial considering it’s not a state holiday in South Carolina.

But one Twitter user decided to press the issue and asked the city why it wasn’t shutting down on Monday. Whoever runs North Charleston’s Twitter account decided to leave no mystery as to why Columbus Day is a garbage holiday.

If there’s a prize for “best tweet by a municipal city employee,” we hope North Charleston’s social media manager gets the nomination they so clearly deserve.
