What's a police officer to do when the man he's arresting for drunken driving asks for a Snapchat selfie?

"Happily oblige" turns out to be the official term.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports Gilbert Phelps, 20, who was pulled over last Thursday and charged with drunken driving, made the unusual request of his arresting officer. This is after the officer smelled alcohol in the vehicle and the suspect admitted to smoking marijuana before driving.

The Smoking Gun posted the official police report, which states:

During the testing process, the defendant requested to take a SnapChat selfie with me to which I happily obliged. He said he captioned the photo using emoji icons showing a police car, next to a passenger car, next to a tow truck.

A tow truck emoji? There is no such thing. What was this guy smoking?

Oh, right, marijuana.
