Kamala Harris to Jeff Sessions:

Latest

Attorney General Jeff Sessions appeared on Tuesday before the Senate Intelligence Committee, ostensibly to discuss the ongoing investigation into Russian hacking of the 2016 election, and President Donald Trump’s decision for fire now-former FBI Director James Comey.

Save for a brief hissy fit aimed at Sen. Ron Wyden, the bulk of Sessions’ testimony was the sort of muted, uninspiring back and forth that makes people’s eyes glaze over.

Fortunately for all of us, California Democrat Kamala Harris was there to stop the bullshit and demand some actual answers. And boy, was Sessions not happy about it—rambling, smirking, and generally being a dick in the face of Harris’ line of questions. He even said at one point he felt “nervous” by her demand for, y’know, answers. Poor guy.

When Harris, frustrated at the obvious attempts to run out the clock on her questions, began pointedly explaining her line of inquiry to the smugly smiling Sessions, John McCain, followed by committee chair Richard Burr, attempted to silence her—and only her, over the course of the entire hearing— with Burr saying that “the witness should be allowed to answer the question,” as if Sessions really had any intention of doing so. And, in fact, after Sessions continued to dodge her questions, Harris was informed that her time had expired.

While Sessions may have narrowly dodged the only serious line of questioning for the entire afternoon, Harris’ efforts did not go unnoticed online:

Jeff Sessions, welcome to the NFL.
