Laura Ingraham's Brother Says She's Become a Full-Blown Racist 'Monster' on Fox News

Laura Ingraham, once a fairly fringe figure of the religious far-right, has quickly become a national name using her Fox News show to showcase her virulently racist rants about immigration, viciously attacking high school gun control activist David Hogg, and, for emphasis, just being insanely racist whenever possible. And it’s apparently too much to bear for her older brother, Curtis, who reportedly called the Fox News host a “monster” repeatedly in a Wednesday interview with the Daily Beast.

Unfortunately unbeknownst to me until just today, Curtis Ingraham seems to use his Twitter feed exclusively to condemn Laura’s repugnant political opinions and air the family’s dirty laundry.

When Ingraham’s attacks on Hogg were causing advertisers to flee the show, Curtis was right there urging the effort forward:

As the Daily Beast first flagged, he’s also used the unverified Twitter feed to make some intense accusations about his sister’s past and their family life, including speculating that she came by her racist views in part from their father, who he accused of being an abusive Nazi sympathizer.

Curtis also accused Ingraham of offending her black roommate at Dartmouth—where she ran the deeply homophobic right-wing student paper—by “speaking jive.”

In a phone interview with the Daily Beast, he described his sister as “very smart” and “well spoken” but said “her emotional heart is just kind of dead.”

“And you see it in her face when you see her on TV. She’s ready to destroy. She does not listen to understand—she listens to respond. And her response is always an attack,” he continued. “The reason I’m sharing these details is because of what is happening in our country…I feel like a bit of a whistle-blower in trying to unveil hypocrisy.”

Of course, the brother’s claims are quite difficult to verify. In a statement to the Beast, the Fox News host said they’ve been “estranged.”

“My siblings and I are shocked and saddened to learn of these false and hurtful online postings,” Ingraham said in the statement. “Although we’ve been estranged from him for many years, we love our brother and miss him very much.”
