Mexico City breaks Guinness World Record for most people dressed as members of The Beatles

Residents of Mexico City channeled their inner John, Paul, George and Ringo last weekend to break a Guinness World Record for the most people dressed as the Fab Four in the same place at the same time—a record you might not have known existed until just now.

Wearing wigs, fake beards, phony mustaches and all sorts of Sergeant Pepper paraphernalia, 294 Mexicans assembled on Saturday in Chapultepec Park to boast their beatlemania and beat the previous record of 250. Guinness has yet to make it official.

It may seem like a strange title to go after, but Mexico City is known for attempting to break all types of bizarre records, from having the most people dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, to having the world’s largest selfie.

The fans sang their favorite Beatles songs, took selfies and proved the British Invasion continues in Mexico, even though the legendary band never played a concert there. This is what it looked like:
