No shame in staying alive: How medical marijuana helped save me from brain cancer

When Bay Area writer Adam Bessie’s brain cancer returned in 2013, he was thrown back into the nightmare he calls the “Chemoverse.” But this time was different: a physician prescribed him medical marijuana. Here is his story, illustrated by Marc Parenteau.
