Only 133 delegates at the RNC identify as Latino

It appears those comments have come home to roost. Of the estimated 2,472 delegates attending the convention in Cleveland, only 133 are Latino, according to Helen Aguirre Ferre, the RNC’s director of Hispanic Communications. That number is more than the 18 who identify as black, but still leaves a lot of room for improvement for a party that lost the Latino vote handily in 2012, and has been desperately trying to reach Hispanic voters, even as its candidate denigrates them consistently, despite Trump announcing that “the Hispanics” love him.
In an email to Fusion, Ferre cautioned that the 133 number might be low.
“Not all delegates have returned their surveys so the number may change,” she wrote.
