Planned Parenthood holds 'day of solidarity' after Colorado attacks

Latest

Planned Parenthood supporters gathered on Saturday for what the organization called a “Day of Solidarity” just over a week after one of its clinics was targeted in a mass shooting attack.

People came together in Washington and in Colorado, where the attack took place, as well as at other events around the country.

“We are calling for an end to the inflammatory rhetoric that has vilified and fueled attacks not only against Planned Parenthood and abortion providers, but also against Black, immigrant, refugee, and LGBTQ communities,” Planned Parenthood said in a statement on its website.

Prominent celebrities, politicians—including President Obama—and other supporters echoed the group’s words on Twitter.
