Planned Parenthood's Cecile Richards tells Trump 'women are going to be the reason you won't be elected'

Latest

Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, took the stage Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in support of Hillary Clinton. Richards spoke of Clinton’s record supporting reproductive rights, and then turned her attention to Donald Trump, long famous for his misogyny.

“Donald Trump’s policies aren’t just frightening; they’re rooted in a deeply disturbing worldview,” she said. “Donald Trump has called women ‘fat pigs’ and ‘dogs.’ He wants to punish women for having abortions, and he says that ‘pregnancy is an inconvenience for a woman’s employer.'”

With her point made, Richards went in for the kill.

“Well, Mr. Trump, come this November, women are going to be a lot more than an inconvenience, because women are gonna be the reason you’re not elected to be President.”

The polls suggest this is the case—in recent polls, Clinton is up six points with women.
