Posh Scum Complain That London Fire Survivors Will Bring Down Their Neighborhood

The fire which consumed London’s Grenfell Tower and killed at least 79 people has horrified the world. You would think, therefore, that everyone would be clamoring to help the traumatized, homeless survivors of the blaze get back on their feet.

Well, let me introduce you to the rich scum of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Kensington is London’s poshest neighborhood, but Grenfell Tower housed poorer people.

Now, Grenfell survivors are being rehoused in a block of luxury flats in Kensington—a move which came after the quite delightful Jeremy Corbyn suggested something very similar—which sounds like a pretty good solution. But not so fast! It seems that some wealthy residents are not at all pleased with this riff-raff moving into their fancy buildings. And by “seems,” I mean “these pieces of shit are telling newspapers that.”

Here’s what one woman told The Guardian:

“It’s so unfair,” said Maria, who was reading the news in the Evening Standard with two neighbours.

She bought her flat two years ago for a sum she was unwilling to disclose. “We paid a lot of money to live here, and we worked hard for it. Now these people are going to come along, and they won’t even be paying the service charge.”

Heaven forbid! Another great representative of his class, Nick, gave this heartwarming comment:

“I’m very sad that people have lost their homes, but there are a lot of people here who have bought flats and will now see the values drop. It will degrade things. And it opens up a can of worms in the housing market.”

OK, how about one more? From The Independent:

Anna, who is in her 60s, has lived in her flat just a stone’s throw from the new development for 40 years. She said she would not be happy to see survivors rehoused in her area.

“North Kensington is not this Kensington. They should be in a place where they are happy, but not here. I don’t want them here,” she said.

Honestly, communism can’t get here fast enough, we need to take everything these people have.
