Riz Ahmed, Your Social Justice Zaddy, Is Now an Emmy Winner

Your favorite spoken word-performing, diversity-championing boyfriend Riz Ahmed is having a great night! He just won the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Limited Series for his role in HBO’s The Night Of. And of course he didn’t let his moment go to waste, wearing an ACLU ribbon pin and taking the opportunity to talk about the justice system:

Before I go, I want to say it is always strange reaping the rewards of a story that’s based on real world suffering, but if this show has shown a light on some of the prejudice in our societies, xenophobia, some of the injustice in our justice system, then maybe that is something.
