Roy Moore Is Still Refusing to Concede

Democrat Doug Jones upset Republican Roy Moore, an alleged sexual predator and confirmed bigot, in the Alabama Senate race on Tuesday. Moore, somewhat predictably, has refused to concede the election. Instead, Moore announced in a campaign video on Wednesday, he was waiting for “military and provisional ballots” to make the final call.

After refusing to concede, Moore spent the remaining 4 minutes of his address to spew some of his characteristically bigoted bullshit. “Today, we no longer recognize the universal truth that God is the author of our life and liberty,” Moore said of the election results. “Abortion, sodomy, and materialism have taken the place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

No speech of Moore’s would be complete without mention of same-sex marriage, which the disgraced former Judge seems to think should be illegal, along with “homosexual acts.” He reiterated his brazen prejudices on Wednesday night, lamenting how America has “redefined marriage” and “recognized the right of a man to claim to be a woman.” Truly, a greatest hits of Moore’s particular brand of Bannon conservatism.

Jones, by the way, defeated Moore by 1.5 percentage points—Alabama only requires a mandatory recount if the final vote is within 0.5 percent.
