Rudy Giuliani says Trump isn't racist because there are no racists

Donald Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani doesn’t want you to call Donald Trump a racist. That’s because Rudy doesn’t think anyone should be called a racist.

“To say that Donald Trump is a racist is outrageous. And to call anybody a racist is outrageous. I can’t stand that,” Giuliani told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle on Wednesday morning.

“Well hold on, there are people you can call racist,” Ruhle interjected.

Fact-check: True! There are racists. They exist. They’re real. There’re a lot of them. It’s fine to call them racists.

Giuliani then repeated his claim that Donald Trump is not a racist.

Maybe Giuliani also doesn’t think we should call former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, who is running for Senate in Louisiana this year, a racist. I do: He’s a racist. It’s not “outrageous” to call him one. I just did. He supports Donald Trump, who is also a racist.

Unsurprisingly for someone who doesn’t think anyone should be called racist, Giuliani also seems to think—like Trump’s VP candidate Mike Pence—there exists any implicit bias against people of color. Giuliani thinks it’s just “racial guilt,” which he wants you to know—and you’d better sit down for this one—he does not suffer from. “If she thinks we all have implicit bias, Hillary, I got news for you: I don’t,” Giuliani said in response to Trump’s rival Hillary Clinton talking about racism on the campaign trail. “I have no racial guilt. Not a single bit of it. Which is why I’m willing to tell the truth about black crime and what has to be done about it.”

Thank god we all live in Giuliani’s post-racial utopia where he can lecture us on “the truth about black crime”—which by the way is in no way racist because you can’t say that about anyone.
