Rudy Giuliani Tries to Clean Up the Gigantic Mess He's Made for Trump

Rudy Giuliani, a screaming racist who is now “helping” Donald Trump, issued a mealy-mouthed clarification on Friday intended to clean up his disastrous media blitz of the past few days. Unfortunately for Giuliani, however, the brief statement was only noteworthy for just how little it actually did to clarify any of his previous mistakes regarding Trump’s alleged hush money payment to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Here’s Rudy in his own, extremely unhelpful, words:

A translation: “Sure, Trump may well have paid a porn star to keep quiet about their affair (even though it totally did not happen, btw) during the closing weeks of an election, but in my opinion he would have done that anyway. Also, firing James Comey is good, and totally not because the president wanted to do obstruction. 9/11.”

The president, meanwhile, had his own “clarification” regarding Giuliani’s televised self-immolation, telling reporters on Friday, “When Rudy made the statements… Rudy is great, but Rudy had just started, and he wasn’t totally familiar with everything.”
