Sarah Huckabee Sanders Had a Very Bad Day

Latest

Stormy Daniels’ 60 Minutes interview was the highest-watched episode since Barack and Michelle Obama’s first post-election interview in 2008. Yet Donald Trump has remained conspicuously silent on the topic, which has made it a bad day for one very deserving Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was left to pick up the slack.

When a reporter asked Sanders about the president’s silence at a press conference on Tuesday, she snapped back, “I don’t think it’s silent when the president has addressed this, we’ve addressed it extensively, there’s just nothing else to add, just because you guys continue to ask the same question over and over and over again doesn’t mean we that have to keep coming up with new things to say.”

Sanders also spewed some bullshit about the fact that the Trump administration decided to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census, claiming that “this is a question that’s been included in every Census since 1965, with the exception of 2010 when it was removed.”

The question—which will likely suppress response rates of immigrantshasn’t in fact been included on the full Census form since 1950, as The Brennan Center’s Michael Li pointed out on Twitter:

Another day, another press conference where Sanders tries to spin the White House’s way out of its own mess.
