Sean Hannity Forced Into a Spectacularly Humiliating Retreat Over NYT Trump-Mueller Story

Latest

Welcome to WHAT NOW, a morning round-up of the news/fresh horrors that await you today.

When The New York Times reported Thursday evening that President Trump tried to fire special counsel Robert Mueller last summer—despite repeatedly insisting he would do no such thing—Sean Hannity, Fox News’ resident MMA expert and Trump-defending fanatic, was far from convinced.

The New York Times is trying to distract you, they have a story that Trump wanted Mueller fired sometime last June, and our sources—and I’ve checked in with many of them—they’re not confirming that tonight,” Hannity told his viewers around 9:15 p.m. last night. “How many times has The New York Times and others gotten it wrong?”

Wow, good question, you’ve got me there. It’s good to be hearing from a rare beacon of conservative truth, who would certainly never use his various platforms to pedal outright conspiracy theories and falsehoods.

But by the end of the show shortly before 10 p.m., Hannity had to throw it in reverse in spectacular fashion—because Fox News had confirmed the Times reporting he had just condemned.

“Also, we have sources now confirming that yeah, maybe Donald Trump wanted to fire the special counsel for conflict. Does he not have the right to raise those questions?” Hannity asked. “You know, we’ll deal with this tomorrow night.”

Watch the beautiful footage:

Then he closed out the show with a “shocking” car chase video. When everything falls apart, just play the hits!

For his extremely stable, brain genius part, Hannity offered this striking document as evidence of…..something.
