Some dude is scaling Trump Tower with suction cups and people are losing it

Human beings are motivated to do all kinds of things for all sorts of reasons—so who are we to judge this man, who, late Wednesday afternoon, was seen scaling Trump Tower in New York using four “suction cups”?

Trump Tower (where Donald Trump’s campaign is headquartered) is 58 stories tall.

While police looked on, the man identified by CNN as Steve from Virginia just kept on climbing, the New York Daily News reported. No need to fear—he was dressed in “high-end mountain climbing gear,” the Daily News said, so it’s likely he knew what he was doing.

Eventually, he was caught after scaling nearly 20 stories of the building. At its peak, the ABC7 live stream of the climb reached over 200,000 viewers.

A video was posted Tuesday to YouTube titled “Message to Mr. Trump (why I climbed your tower),” in which a man resembling the man on the building says that he is seeking a seeking “a private audience” with Trump “to discuss an important matter.”

“Believe me, if my purpose was not significant, I would not risk my life pursuing it,” the man in the video says.
