Thanksgiving Brawl Shuts Down Alabama’s Biggest Mall

We’re so thankful that stores have decided to start “Black Friday” shopping insanity a day early. But, what the hell is going on in Alabama?

Local WBRC News anchor Clare Huddleston tweeted a video Friday of a brawl that broke out at the Riverchase Galleria mall in Hoover, AL, late on Thanksgiving evening, forcing mall officials to close it down early.

Police and firefighters were called to break up the melee just after 11 p.m., AL.com reported. Earlier reports of gunshots being fired turned out to be false, police said later. Authorities said the cause of the brawl was of a “personal nature” and not related to shopping. But, of course that’s what they would say.

According to Mediaite.com, the mall reopened at 6 a.m. on Friday. Thank god.
