The best-selling #PrimeDay item in both Austria and Germany was Crocs

Latest

Guys, what is going on in the Austro-German footwear fashion?

We’re asking because the best selling item for both Germany and Austria on Amazon Prime Day was Crocs, according to Amazon’s release on how the day went.

Crocs, which were named one of the 50-ugliest shoes of all time by The Cut, almost went bankrupt several years ago after failing to flood the market with its rubbery soles, though their finances have largely now stabilized.

We have reached out to Crocs and Amazon for comment to see if they can provide any insight into what is going on with the Germano-Austrian Crocs obsession.

But here’s what we know so far:

— Crocs have been in the top 100 best-selling footwear items on Amazon Germany for 2,069 days and counting, longer than any other shoe item.

— Boulder-based Crocs included Germany among the five major markets it will now seek to focus on as it scales back its physical store footprint

— Europe was Crocs’ only region to see positive revenue in constant-currency terms in Q1; unit sales there were up about 25%.

And here’s an uncorrected Google Translate of a Crocs review by user Sybille on Amazon’s German website.

I wear the crocs now for several months and am thrilled.
One has to buy a size half a larger, otherwise you walk up a few steps back to the Fersenkante.Das would obviously uncomfortable.
For driving I put the strap to the back, so I have a firm grip, as with a fixed shoe.
With or without socks, I feel the nubs Occupied Fußbett. So I have at every step even a free foot massage.
And sweaty feet no trace because ringsrum air reaches the base, but without cold feet about bekommen. Was me still even very surprised.
Once I slip without socks in these shoes, I immediately warm feet.
That’s something special, no rubber

Anyway, if you were curious, here are Amazon’s full Prime Day country breakdown results. Enjoy all the Monopoly sets, France!
