The Secret Service Has Weighed In on Omarosa's Alleged 'Removal' From the White House

Latest

On Tuesday, Omarosa Manigualt Newman was fired from her duties at the White House (it’s unclear what exactly she did, but her official title was Director of Communications for the White House Public Liaison Office).

Officially, the White House said Omarosa had resigned from her position to “pursue other opportunities.” White House reporter April Ryan shared a different version of events on Wednesday—and one that certainly fits with Omarosa’s reality TV persona. According to Ryan, Omarosa was not only fired, she was escorted out of the White House:

Another source told The Wall Street Journal that Omarosa was “physically dragged” from the White House (incidentally, Omarosa was also fired from Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2013). However the Secret Service, who would have presumably done the dragging, pushed back on reports that Omarosa was physically removed in a series of tweets Wednesday evening:

So, apparently, Omarosa wasn’t “physically removed” from the White House…but the Secret Service’s word choice (“termination process”) certainly implies she was fired. I, for one, can’t wait to find out Omarosa’s side of the story in her inevitable White House tell-all.

Trump, it seems, would like to squash this Omarosa drama ASAP:
