Donald Trump is now the GOP's de facto presidential nominee, and Republican politicians and operatives are starting to come to terms with it.

The evolution has not exactly been subtle.

It started with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie:


Next there was Rick Perry, the very first victim of the Donald Trump Republican primary.


And hey, remember when Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal was going to save the Republican Party from itself in 2013?

… or in 2015?

… oh well.


New York Rep. Peter King was a longtime critic of Trump.


But the top prize goes to Utah's Chris Stewart.

Or maybe he meant it as a compliment?
