This 8-year-old dressing up as Ruth Bader Ginsburg for Superhero Day will bring you joy
LatestIs Michele Threefoot a badass Supreme Court justice in the making? She’s definitely one of the top 8-year-old contenders. When her school asked students to dress up like a superhero, she won many hearts on the internet by choosing The Notorious RBG.
“She and her sister aren’t really into Marvel superheroes, so I was just going to put them in Supergirl capes and masks,” Michele’s mother, Krista Threefoot, explained in an interview with The Huffington Post. “But while our family was talking about it, she told me she wanted to be Ruth Bader Ginsburg. So we went with it!” And with that, little Michele made 2016 a little bit brighter.
Michele, who’s passionate about equality and fairness, was inspired after reading the children’s book, I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark. Ginsburg herself saw the picture, and it sounds like a big surprise is heading Michele’s way.
“I got an email [Monday] from RBG’s assistant ― she saw the picture, loves it, and will be sending Michele a handwritten note!” Threefoot told the Huffington post. “I told Michele that RBG had seen the picture and loved it, but we are keeping the letter a surprise until it comes.”
Fingers crossed Threefoot posts that letter—we can’t wait to see what RBG writes to one of her youngest fans.
