Tillerson on Corker's Castration Comments: 'Actually, I'm Fully Intact'

Latest

On Sunday morning, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson stopped by CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper to set the record straight regarding his allegedly strained relationship with President Trump — sort of. While he continued to avoid directly answering whether or not he called Trump a “fucking moron,” Tillerson did confirm that his balls are, in fact, intact.

Tillerson’s absolutely absurd confirmation comes after days of petulant infighting between Republican Senator Bob Corker, Trump, and to a degree, himself. On Friday, Corker’s feud with Trump reached an inane zenith when the Tennessee Senator suggested the president had “publicly castrat[ed]” Tillerson in an interview with The Washington Post.

Tapper, not nearly as amused as one might expect when questioning the Secretary of State about his balls, got straight to the point during their conversation. Initially, Tillerson danced around answering Tapper’s question, but eventually delivered a truly unforgettable soundbite.

“You have a cattle ranch, you don’t want to say anything about a Senator suggesting you’ve been gelded before the world,” Tapper asked.

“I checked, I’m fully intact,” Tillerson responded through a chuckle that barely captured the ridiculousness of their exchange.

Earlier in their conversation, Tillerson told Tapper that he wouldn’t deign to answer “petty” questions about what he has or hasn’t called Trump. “I’m not going to deal with that kind of petty stuff,” he said. “This is a town that seems to relish gossip, rumor, innuendo, and they feed on it.”

Noted: conjecture on Tillerson’s preferred Trump descriptors are petty, but “public castration” contentions are not.
