Trump Tower-based school for rich kids will feature classes on private jets and caviar

A New York entrepreneur is planning to open a school for young people to teach them how to be rich.

Jonathan Cheban, 41, is best known for his appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians as a trusted family friend.

But in an interview with New You Magazine (a quarterly publication focused on “creating real-time, thought-provoking coverage of the beauty, health, fashion, and celebrity worlds”), Cheban insists he is more than a quasi-reality TV star, saying he is “working on 39 businesses.”

Among them: “The International School of New York.”

Based out of the Trump Tower, the school’s curriculum, Cheban told the magazine, will feature things like navigating the world of private jets, using social media productively, and learning about diamond and caviar quality.

There will also be courses on basic economics.

“This is the social stuff you need to know to survive in a city like this with a lot of money,” Cheban said. “If you are buying a diamond you need to know the clarity and if you are buying a private jet you need to know the different leathers and seats. I’ll basically be the Dean of Pop Culture at the school.”

It’s not clear what Cheban’s educational background is. He says his main business is an entertainment and lifestyle website called TheDishh.com, whose verticals consist of “breaking news,” “celebrity,” “hot trends,” and “life.”

“I want to read about Justin and Selena and Young Hollywood,” he said. “That’s our whole thing. We curate the stuff that is going to be amazing mixed in with the hottest places to go. That’s what people want to know; they want fast information and they trust us.”

Cheban’s PR rep did not respond to a request for further comment about the school. The story was first reported by NBC News.
