11 videos that prove Drake is always on beat

Latest

Drake, a sad puppy dog with an incredible ability to produce hit rap songs, is not a great dancer. No where is this more obvious than in his new video for his hit single “Hotline Bling.”

The video, released Monday night via Apple Music, features Drake in a red puffy coat and Timberlands boots swaying around on a set that looks like a James Turrell art exhibit. His swoopy arms and silly moves have inspired viewers to to start creating #Drakealwaysonthebeat clips, similar to this year’s earlier viral event #Beyoncealwaysonbeat.

Here are 11 of the best:

Drake dances to Bieber’s “What Do You Mean”

Drake dances to Elvis Crespo’s “Suaveamente”

Drake dances to Young Thug’s “Best Friend”

Drake dances to Khia’s “My Neck My Back”

Drake dances to 2 Milly’s “Milly Rock”

Drake dances to the Charlie Brown theme song

Drake dances to Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5”

Drake dances to the Frasier theme song

Drake dances to the Cosby Show theme song

Drake dances to Smash Mouth’s “All Star”

Drake dances to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”

What’s weird about this trend is that, if you look closely, Drake is really not perfectly on the beat. Certainly not the way Beyoncé was. But like Drake, it’s a hashtag full of promise, and so fun that we just can’t stop watching.
