5 things we're loving from fashion week so far

Latest

New York Fashion Week is officially in full swing and the international style set has descended upon the fair metropolis to schmooze, coordinate several outfit changes, and silently judge the latest collections for Fall 2015. We’ve picked our top 5 moments from the first few days of the fashion reverie so far — appearances, emerging trends, parties, and models that have caught our eye, for the good and the bad.

1. Biebs is still hanging around the tents

Won’t the Calvin Klein underwear spokesman get a clue already?

2. Kylie Jenner made her modeling debut at Yeezy Season 1

Kylie Jenner made her modeling debut at brother-in-law Kanye West’s, Adidas Yeezy Season 1 collection. She joined the gaggle of highly stylized tonal spandexed models in the Vanessa Beecroft-art directed fashion show, while her sister, model darling Kylie, sat this one out. The plans of fashion world domination by this family makes me sweat bullets.

3. Blake Lively’s “mommy’s night out”

Blake Lively left the baby at home with Ryan, poured herself into a bod-con monochromatic knee-length number, and hit the Gabriel Cadena for her first public post-baby appearance since giving birth last month to a girl named James Reynold.

4. Frame Denim’s colllection forecasts “That 70s Show” vibes for fall

Channelling Ali McGraw and “Jackie Burkhart” vibes, Frame Denim’s Fall 2014 collection portends a ’70s revival with its flares, Marianne Faithfull shags, and knee-high boots — all of which need to find themselves into my closet in the coming months.

5. Prada brings out style iconoclasts

Feting a night of fashion rebels at Prada Iconcolasts in-store installation last night, the fashionistas got into the theme of the night and broke several fashion rules in sub-zero temps. Just peep BryanBoy’s short shorts, Gabrielle Union’s crop top, Hailee Steinfeld’s open-toe platforms, and Ke$ha’s barely-there mini skirt for further proof!
