A world record powerlifter has been redefining what it means to be transgender, one Instagram photo at a time.

On her Instagram profile Janae Marie Kroc identifies as a “transgender/genderfluid Alpha male/girly girl Lesbian in a male body.” Her profile ends with “Single at the moment.”

“Being a total alpha male and transgender definitely makes me unique even in the transgender community,” Kroc, 42, wrote on the site Gymflow100 when she opened up about her transition.

In 2009, when Kroc identified as Matt Kroczaleski, she lifted a total of 2,551 pounds, breaking the previous world record. Kroc squatted 1,003 pounds, benched 738, and finished by deadlifting 810 pounds, according to the fitness website Powerlifting Watch.

Kroc has been open about her transition and has been sharing her experience with her 2,000 Instagram followers. The first picture she uploaded about a year ago was a picture of her soon after her facial feminization surgery.

Today, Kroc’s photos range from health and fitness updates to pictures of her cat to new makeup techniques she’s discovered.

And she’s also discovered how to be a pro with hashtags.
