Sometimes life imitates art. Sometimes art imitates life. Sometimes life poses in front of the art that’s imitating that very same life, and therein lies the best art of all. (I took an art history class once; you can trust me.)

In June, Juan Sebastián Peláez’s “Ewaipanoma (Rihanna)”—part of the artist’s series of enormous photo cutouts of headless celebrities with faces superimposed on their chests—was unveiled at the Berlin Bienniale for Contemporary Art. Today, Rihanna (the real-life, flesh-and-blood Rihanna, that is) visited her towering two-dimensional twin and documented their fateful meeting on Snapchat.

One Rihanna was never enough.
