Are these people waiting in line for the new iPhone, or the Pope?
LatestNEW YORK CITY—Perhaps to presage tonight’s rare supermoon lunar eclipse, two major events drawing the hundreds (if not thousands) have overtaken New York today. Yes, my good friend the Pope scheduled his visit to this great city on the same day that Apple released its new cellular phone (called the iPhone 6s—incredible).
Many eons into the iPhone product cycle, we are (hopefully, by now) numb to the novelty that is the absurdly long line snaking out of an Apple store on a release day. But that’s the thing about New York—it has a way of making old things, like lines, feel new and exciting.
What are these people waiting in line for? Your guess is as good as mine, my man.
