Ariana Grande takes down male fan's objectifying comments: 'I am not a piece of meat'

Ariana Grande recounted an embarrassing tale of lewd comments and female objectification on her Twitter account last night.

The 23-year-old singer explained she was out with her boyfriend, rapper Mac Miller, Tuesday night when a “loud and excited” male fan approached them, telling Miller that he was a “huge fan.” (At this point, Grande wrote, she thought Miller’s fan was being “cute.”)

The WTF moment came quickly after. The man, Grande writes, went on to say: “Ariana is sexy as fuck man, I see you, I see you hitting that.”

Hmmm.

Grande said on Twitter that she felt “sick and objectified.”

“I am not a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure,” she said. “I’m an adult human being in a relationship with a man who treats me with love and respect.”

She went on to address all women who have ever felt uncomfortable and objectified by men. “We need to share and be vocal when something makes us feel uncomfortable because if we don’t, it will just continue. We are not objects or prizes. We are QUEENS.”

A Twitter user attempted to call Grande out for being a “tad hypocritical,” saying that she objectified herself with her song lyrics. The singer swiftly and adequately responded, explaining that objectifying is not the same as being sexually expressive.

“That’s the thing. Women expressing sexuality is often mistaken for “hi come disrespect me!!!!”….& that’s just not the case,” Grande tweeted back.
