Art Basel music roundup: Come for the art, stay for Miley Cyrus in pasties

Latest

Miley sang a new song about a dead cat, Robert Pattinson lovingly ogled his girlfriend from the crowd and Ezra Koenig made a surprise cameo appearance at the SBTRKT show: here are the biggest music moments from Art Basel Miami Beach.

Miley Cyrus at The Raleigh

Miley brought her IDGAF attitude to an opening night party, telling the crowd, “I usually don’t smoke weed or drink on show days, but I felt like it was fine in Miami.” She wore a silver wig and pasties and accessorized with a neon smiley face necklace, bubbles and a blunt.

She debuted a new track called “The Twinkle Song,” which was inspired by the death of her friend’s cat. The opening imagery involves David Bowie and a skateboard shaped like Gumby. Nuff said.

FKA Twigs at The YoungArts Campus

FKA Twigs’ captivated the crowd with her signature brand of otherworldly eroticism during her performance at the YoungArts Campus.

Robert Pattinson, Twilight actor and Twigs’ boyfriend, could have been mistaken for another transfixed audience member; Fusion’s Elisa Rodriguez-Vila caught some pics, noting: “He was standing in the general admission area and did not take his eyes off of her the entire set. Not for a second.”

Here she is performing “Video Girl:”

SBTRKT at YoungArts Campus

SBTRKT rounded out YoungArts’ amazing Basel lineup of musicians, which included FKA Twigs (see above) and James Blake, with assists by Clams Casino and A$AP Ferg. SBTRKT kept the energy up, even on the final night of ABMB. He was joined onstage by Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and the crowd went nuts when they dropped “NEW DORP. NEW YORK,” a track off SBTRKT’s latest album.

Overheard in the crowd: “Was this the best concert I’ve ever been to? Am I even allowed to say that?”

Miguel at Soho Beach House

Miguel, special guest at Russell Simmons’ Artisan Series party, treated guests to an intimate acoustic set inside a tent on the beach. Bombay Sapphire cocktails were flowing and celebs like Rosario Dawson and Chanel Iman enjoyed the show while Miguel seduced everyone in attendance with his rock-star magnetism.

Zoe Kravitz at Chrome Hearts party

Zoe Kravitz, daughter of Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, played a Chrome Hearts party with her band Lolawolf.
