#AskThicke Turned Out as Awful as Expected
LatestTrolls rejoice! VH1 and Robin Thicke joined forces on Twitter yesterday to answer fans’ most burning questions—and it turned out as awful as expected. The “Blurred Lines” crooner had just released a new album/14-track apology to his estranged wife, Paula Patton. So instead of a traditional album Q&A session, VH1 extened the opportunity for people wanted to ask him anything … and this being Twitter, that turned out to be literally ANYTHING.
It seems like Robin Thicke’s PR team could have taken note from previous hashtag nightmares as seen in McDonald’s #McDstories, The NYPD’s #myNYPD, and JP Morgan Chase’s #AskJPM campaigns. When will they learn?
Luckily, before Thicke clicked the sign-off button, we were able to compile a list of our favorite tweets:
They questioned his fame:
Then they questioned his integrity:
Then they wanted to know how perverted he was:
On a scale of R. Kelly to Phil Spector, how do you intend to “Get Her Back?” #AskThicke— Hometown Hero 8-5-14 (@jeanpthemc) July 1, 2014
Then they asked about his promotional strategy:
Then they got curious about his famous folks:
They also wondered about his hairdo:
They also asked about his ethnic leadership:
And of course, they hammered him with more sexual abuse questions:
