At Dallas’ Mega March, the Message Is Family and Unity 

While crowds were more sparse this year than in 2006, when
half a million people showed up, the Mega March 2017 in Dallas still sent a
strong message of hope and determination from Texas’ proud immigrant
communities.

Decked out in red, white, and blue, thousands of people from
all walks of life peacefully marched Sunday afternoon from Dallas’ Cathedral
Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe to City Hall Plaza. The theme of this year’s
Mega March is “Family, Unity, and Empowerment,” and it is a firm validation of
immigrants’ rights in light of a presidential administration dead set on ripping families apart.
