Presented in partnership with The California Endowment

“I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired,” said 25-year-old Alyson Bryant, youth leader at California Conference For Equality and Justice.  Even though Alyson is young, she like other inspiring young people we had the chance to meet, have seen and experienced one injustice after another in their communities.

“We, as a society, have huge problems of poverty, sexual assault, police brutality, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism,” said Dean Welliver, 18, from South Kern Sol.  But these young heroes have found their voice.  They are not only standing up for the communities in their backyards, but also inspiring their neighbors to join them in having a lasting, positive impact.
