Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld turned down a 'Zoolander 2' cameo

Last week we found out that Karl Lagerfeld's glamorous cat, Choupette, made $4 million in 2014 on modeling gigs that most likely demanded the comely furball to simply lick himself. Meanwhile, Lagerfeld himself is eschewing opportunities to get in front of the camera — or at least any belonging to the Zoolander 2 crew.

The fastidious Chanel Creative Director recently told Hello! Canada that he was not interested in making an appearance in the fashion parody film. This is despite the fact that the movie is reportedly already saturated with style stars like models Karlie Kloss, Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevigne, Jourdan Dunn, and steely French fashion editor Carine Roitfeld.

Lagerfeld "forcefully" told the reporter,

"I don't want to be in the movie! They wanted me to be in the movie!"

Oh please, do go on.

"I didn't like it. I am not an actor!" Lagerfeld sniffed.

As Hello! Canada explains, the "it" that the haughty designer is referring to is the Zoolander 2 /Valentino Fashion Week stunt, wherein Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson reprised their roles as "Derek Zoolander" and "Hansel" in a surprise walk-off on the Fall 2015 runway. Their appearance set the world atwitter, building buzz for the movie, and speculation mounted over potential bold-faced fashion world co-stars.

I think it's safe to say that Lagerfeld (and Choupette) will not be making any cameos.
