Channing Tatum will play the mermaid in this gender-bent remake of 'Splash'

Latest

If you liked the months-long man baby tantrum that followed the all-female Ghostbusters remake, then you’ll LOVE the MRA meltdown that will probably erupt over this upcoming gender-bent take on Splash starring Channing Tatum as the mermaid I mean merman I mean merchan.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is remaking the 1984 film with the Magic Mike hottie assuming the part of Daryl Hannah’s mer-character and Jillian Bell stepping into the role originated by Tom Hanks.

Tatum and Bell previously worked together on 22 Jump Street, the sequel to the pretty OK 21 Jump Street movie. Channing will also serve as co-producer of the film.

Deadline reports that Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, the team behind the original Splash, will also co-produce the remake, thus implying that they’ve wholeheartedly co-signed the gender-swapped version. But still, you might wanna go ahead and sage your timelines now.

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.
