In a stunning demonstration of what Facebook is for now, Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is using her account to post memes attacking survivors of the Parkland school shooting and comparing their fight for gun control to the Holocaust.

As Slate’s Mark Joseph Stern first flagged on Monday, Thomas shared a post from another user that featured a photo of thousands of the shoes confiscated from prisoners arriving at concentration camps with this grammatically challenged text:

To all the kids that walked out of school to protest guns. These are the shoes of Jews that gave up their firearms to Hitler . They were led into gas chambers, murdered and buried in mass graves . Pick up a history book and you’ll realize what happens when u give up freedoms and why we have them.

It never takes long for calls for literally any form of increased regulation of guns to be met with wildly off-base Holocaust comparisons, but this one also manages to blame Jews for being systematically murdered because they “gave up their firearms to Hitler.” Pick up a book, indeed!

Late last month, Thomas also posted a meme calling David Hogg, a Parkland student who’s become a constant target of the far right for championing gun control, a “special kind of stupid.”

Thomas’ page also includes posts cheering the decline of CNNdissing Beyonce, cutting cake with a group called the Deplorables of Northern Virginia, and bitching about immigrants.

Ginni Thomas, a private citizen, is allowed to post whatever she wants on her personal Facebook page. But it’s illuminating that someone so close to a conservative Supreme Court justice—one who quite possibly lied about allegations of sexual harassment against him to get on the court—feels emboldened to post such things publicly, even as her husband prepares to take up a whole slew of cases stemming from the Trump administration’s heinous policies.
