Democrats Start Chanting 'U.S.A.! U.S.A.!' on House Floor Because That's Where We're at Now

I imagine there was a time when raucously chanting “U.S.A.! U.S.A.!” was largely the purview of drunken frat bros and football fans. On Thursday, however, it was congressional Democrats who got in on this action, and folks? It was bad.

After an impassioned speech on the floor of the House of Representatives by Minority Whip Steny Hoyer over a proposed amendment to boost funding for election security—something the White House has said it ostensibly supports—Democrats began repeatedly shouting the name of the country in which they live. Because thatll show those nasty Republicans who’s boss!

Despite Hoyer’s urging to Republicans to “listen to Sarah Huckabee Sanders” when it comes to election security, the GOP has stubbornly blocked efforts to increase funds dedicated to safeguarding the electoral process.

But, hey, maybe if Democrats chant loud enough, they’ll change their minds, right?
