Diplo Chosen As World Cup Uniform Model

As EDM continues to devour the world’s ears, it’s getting even bigger- the World Cup!

Nike unveiled the US national team uniforms on Wednesday, choosing DJ/producer and one third of Major Lazer, Diplo to model the new design. Also chosen were film director Spike Lee, footballer Andrew Luck and skateboarder Erik Koston, among others, helping bridge the gap between the entertainment world and the World Cup.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old EDM megastar Avicii is set to collaborate with Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Alexandre Pires on the 2014 Fifa World Cup Anthem ‘Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find A Way)’.

Avicii said in a press conference, “I gave it a ‘Samba meets my dance music’ sound.”

You can see the ‘Wake Me Up’ producer perform the anthem on July 13 at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony.
