Every single outfit Cookie wore this season on 'Empire'

Latest

The comprehensive catalog of Cookie Lyon’s wardrobe that you’re about to read was something I started week one when I began my post as your intrepid style reporter here at Fusion.

Empire was young at that point — I believe we were just two episodes into the mid-season replacement — but it was well understood by the Pop & Culture team that this assignment was very, very necessary and very, very *important*. Even at that early point in Empire‘s meteoric rise to American primetime gold, Cookie was a draw, a motivating influence for not only television programming but fashion.

For every occasion, for every brawl, for every scheme, for every seduction, Cookie was fitted in flashy, dazzling, leopard-emblazoned looks that demanded attention, often avoided taste, and endeared her to almost 17 million people in just a 12-episode arc. A shrewd businesswoman, a dutiful mother, and a no-holds-barred wit, Cookie knew herself and subsequently knew how to convey that through her infectious style.

And while last night’s two-hour season finale has left us with an excruciating void in our lives and Wednesday night calendars, at least we have Cookie’s outfits to wipe our salty tears upon. As you wistfully scroll through, let us reflect upon animal prints and fur with fondness, and hypothesize how the imminent trifecta of Cookie, Oprah, and Beyoncé for season two will mostly likely alter the sequence of history and time as we know it.
