At least one person is dead following a shooting at Houston's Texas Southern University on Friday.
ABC News reports two people were shot at an on-campus student housing complex. School officials later confirmed to The Associated Press that the victim who died in the shooting was a student at the school, but gave no further information about his or her identity.
A Houston Police Department spokesperson told the AP that the other victim was hospitalized, but in stable condition. No other information about the victim's identity was provided.
Police also said that two people had been detained in relation to the shooting, but that they did not currently know the motive. A third suspect is being sought, but police say it is not an active shooter situation.
The campus went into lockdown shortly after the shooting and cancelled classes for the rest of the day. The lockdown has since been rescinded and classes will resume on Monday.
The shooting is the second at a university reported Friday, with at least one person killed at a shooting at Northern Arizona University.
