Fusion Poll: Young Democrats more likely to spark a spliff than Republicans?

Most young Democratic voters say they’ve used marijuana, compared to only 30 percent of young Republican voters, according to a Fusion poll released today.  Here’s how marijuana use breaks down by party affiliation among young voters:

Incidentally, around the same percentage of young Republican voters support the legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational purposes, compared to most young Democratic and Independent voters.

Despite the political split on the issue, a plurality of young voters think the government’s highest priority in dealing with drugs should be to “legalize drugs for medical use.”

And nearly half of all likely voters polled think marijuana should be legalized for both medical and recreational use.
