Gloria Steinem isn't giving up her torch just yet

Who is the next Gloria Steinem?

According to Steinem herself, perhaps there never should have been a first.

In a conversation with Eva Longoria at Tina Brown‘s “Women in the World Texas” forum on October 22, Steinem points out that the feminist movement is too diverse and huge to rest on the shoulders of just one person.

“I do my best never to appear by myself,” she told Longoria.

Steinhem was quick to remind the audience, however, that she’s not ready to let go of her torch just yet.

“I’m keeping my torch, and I’m using my torch to light the torches of others.”

Fusion live streamed the conference and will air exclusive content on “Alicia Menendez Tonight” show.
