'Good Girls Revolt' star says she knows the show's sexual harassment plot lines all too well

If you think that the casual workplace sexism found in the trailer for Good Girls Revolt is a thing of the past, you are either wrong or a man or probably both! Just ask Anna Camp, who stars as Jane on the Amazon original series, which premieres on Friday.

In a recent interview with People, the actress spelled out just how deeply the show’s sexual harassment narratives resonate with her, a person who is alive in 2016.

“There’s a character named Sam,” she said. “I’m his researcher, and we’re pretty equal and we’re a great team and good partners, but he always says: ‘So, what are you doing later? You want to go out later?'”

Camp told the interviewer that she has been forced to navigate nearly identical interactions in professional settings despite not being a fictional character from a TV show set in the 1960s but in fact a real live human being from this, the year of our Lord 2016.

“I’m happily married now, but [I have had moments] on sets where I have been shooting a scene with someone, it’s going very well, but I can tell… ‘Oh God, I think he’s going to ask… Oh God, is he going to ask me out?'” she said. “But I have to work with him tomorrow! And then I have to work with him for the next month. How do I maintain that balance of not offending him, but getting my point across that I don’t want to go out on a date?”

If this sounds at all like the way you interact with your coworkers, it’s not cute but in fact psyche-ruining so please stop immediately!!!!

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.
