On Sunday, in broad daylight, rival biker gangs got into a melee at a bar in downtown Waco, Texas, that left nine dead, 18 injured, and led to 175 arrests.
This raised a lot of questions for us, one of them being…how do you even join a biker gang?
Well, in April of 2013, a user of wikiHow.com, the online how-to site, created a guide to just that. It's been viewed more than 45,000 times.
Unfortunately, after contacting wikiHow to learn more about this page and the individual(s) behind it, the CEO of the site personally de-indexed it, saying it didn't meet its standards (it is still live in Google Cache).
But we remain fascinated by it. Each of the 15 steps comes with its own oddly satisfying image — and certain steps seem (unfortunately) to check out with the events of Sunday (see No. 11).
Many wikiHow entries now come will illustrations, but given the subject matter we were surprised and pleased that this one got the treatment. Unfortunately, the site refused to divulge any information about its visual content and declined to put us in touch with the illustrator.
