Hilary Duff and her boyfriend dressed as a pilgrim and Native American for Halloween and everyone is appropriately outraged

Beloved childhood TV and pop star Hilary Duff and her boyfriend, personal trainer dudebro Jason Walsh, attended a Halloween party Friday night dressed as a pilgrim and Native American, respectively. Appropriately, seemingly the whole of social media came together to condemn them.

Many asked if she would say anything about the extreme police brutality recently displayed toward peaceful Native American protesters blocking access to the Dakota Access Pipeline site. A recent In These Times investigation found that Native Americans are killed by police at higher rates than any other group in America.

On Sunday afternoon, Duff posted a standard celebrity “sorry if you were offended” non-apology on Twitter.

Walsh has since locked his Instagram account; Duff’s is still open, but the comments under many recent posts are slamming her for the costume.

According to Indian Country Today Media, the party they attended was hosted by Cindy Crawford and her husband and was attended by Ryan Seacrest, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Paris Hilton.
