I am not convinced 20 pounds of dog food is going to put a huge bear to sleep
LatestThe bear story du jour yesterday featured a very sleepy, happy bear who took a nice little nap on a man’s lawn after chowing down 20 pounds of dog food. Look at the cute bear sleeping, he’s really cute.
Story is bullshit, I say. Come on, you really think a giant bear—described by residents as “a big bear” and “that’s a huge bear”—is going to pass out after eating 20 pounds of dog food? Do you know how much bears can eat? Sometimes they eat entire baby moose or deer. What’s 20 pounds of dog food gonna do to a big-ass bear?
“20 pounds? Ehh,” said Sean Farley, a wildlife biologist for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, when asked if 20 pounds of dog food would put a bear to sleep. “Maybe he ate 15 pounds of cat food before this. We don’t know.” Also, I talked to a guy who calls himself a bear whisperer, and he says bears nap all the time, so.
And that’s not all! Originally, WFTV said he ate 50 POUNDS of dog food. Then WFTV changed it to 20 pounds. I have proof!!
Suspicious, huh? I’d say.
OK, so, Mr. Farley clearly wasn’t convinced, and neither am I. Don’t give into these headlines, people. “Black bear falls asleep on lawn after eating 20 pounds of dog food.” Yeah right!!!!
